Numerical solution of a type of weakly singular nonlinear Volterra integral equation by Tau Method
In this paper, a matrix based method is considered for the solution of a class of nonlinear Volterra integral equations with a kernel of the general form $s^{beta}(t-s)^{-alpha}G(y(s))$ based on the Tau method. In this method, a transformation of the independent variable is first introduced in order to obtain a new equation with smoother solution. Error analysis of this method is also ...
متن کاملDelayed feedback control of a delay equation at Hopf bifurcation
We embark on a case study for the scalar delay equation ẋ(t) = λf(x(t− 1)) + b−1(x(t− θ) + x(t− θ− p/2)) with odd nonlinearity f , real nonzero parameters λ, b, and three positive time delays 1, θ, p/2. We assume supercritical Hopf bifurcation from x ≡ 0 in the well-understood single-delay case b = ∞. Normalizing f ′(0) = 1, branches of constant minimal period pk = 2π/ωk are known to bifurcate ...
متن کاملOn the Complex Ginzburg–landau Equation with a Delayed Feedback
We show how to stabilize the uniform oscillations of the complex Ginzburg–Landau equation with periodic boundary conditions by means of some global delayed feedback. The proof is based on an abstract pseudo-linearization principle and a careful study of the spectrum of the linearized operator.
متن کاملOn a Design Method of Sampled-data Delayed Feedback Controller
The design problem of a delayed feedback controller in the sampled-data setting is considered. Instead of the indirect method via the plant augmentation, we impose certain interpolation conditions on the free parameter of the stabilizing controller parametrization to embed the DFC structure into the controller directly. Since the underlying stabilization problem to be solved is independent of t...
متن کاملNumerical Solution of Fractional Telegraph Equation via the Tau Method
This paper presents a computational technique based on the Tau method and Legendre polynomials for the solution of a class of time-fractional telegraph equations. An appropriate representation of the solution via the Legendre operational matrix of fractional derivative is used to reduces its numerical treatment to the solution of a set of linear algebraic equations. The fractional derivatives a...
